What is JanuxTV?
JanuxTV is a cloud video streaming platform providing everything you need to launch your streaming TV channel. You get web players to embed on your website and your own branded mobile app for your channel.
Do I have to download or install something to use JanuxTV?
No. JanuxTV is a cloud platform, so all you need to use is a web browser. Your organization will get an account and you can have users with different profiles depending on the access they need to the platform.
Is there any commitment to use JanuxTV?
Not at all. You can sign up and cancel at any time.
How long does it take to launch my JanuxTV server?
We can have your JanuxTV platform up and running in less than 24 hours.
How long does it take to launch the mobile apps?
The timeframe for publishing your mobile apps can vary based on several factors, including the time needed for uploading videos, adjusting graphics and texts, setting up your EPG, and more. Generally, it takes between 1 and 2 weeks to have all settled. Then the apps can be submitted to the stores for their approval.
Must I have to have an Apple Developer account and a Google Developer account to upload my apps?
No. JanuxTV will make all of this for you using our developer accounts.
What is timeshifting?
Timeshifting is the ability to go back in time to see whatever was streamed earlier. This is achieved in JanuxTV by our live video DVR. The maximum time to go back depends on the DVR disk capacity available. Typically, in JanuxTV, each hour of video takes 2 GB of disk space.
What is the difference between traffic and bandwidth?
Traffic is the total amount of data that is transferred by you and your viewers. JanuxTV allows unlimited traffic. Bandwidth is the maximum data transfer rate for the whole JanuxTV service. This is limited on each JanuxTV subscription plan. For reference, 500 Mbps of bandwidth means 162 TB of traffic in a month (at full usage).
Do I need an encoder?
You'll need an encoder if you want to stream live content. You can use software applications like vMix and OBS or use a hardware encoder. If you don't need to stream live content, you can upload your videos and stream them simulating live events using the EPG for accurate broadcast or the live list to stream a circular list of videos.
Can I stream in Full HD?
With our Pro plan, you can stream up to 1080p (1920x1080 pixels).
Can I stream from my pre-recorded videos?
Of course. You can select a recorded video from a show in the EPG, or you can add a video to a live list to be streamed in an endless circular loop.
Can I stream with stereo sound?
Yes, JanuxTV supports stereo sound.
What if I need an audio only version of some of my programs?
JanuxTV can create an audio-only version of all of your video content, including live streaming. That means your audience can switch to audio-only at any time for on-the-go listening and you can have a Podcast feed of every show you have.
Do you support Adaptive Bitrate Streaming?
Certainly! You can ingest directly as many video qualities as you want; or use the ABR transcoding feature to create a low bitrate version of your high-quality stream input.
What kind of customization does the web player support?
You can create as many as 20 different web players, each of them can have time-shifting or not, widgets (highlights, EPG, and watch later), zoom, ads, a special skin, and other features.
Can I upload videos directly from my computer?
Yes. You can upload your videos and JanuxTV will transcode them to the proper platform format.
What is Restream?
Restream is a feature in JanuxTV that allows you to stream your live broadcast to up to 10 social channels.
Can I restream to a custom RTMP destination?
Of course. You can stream to a custom RTMP destination by selecting a custom platform in the JanuxTV control panel.
Do you take any cuts from my ads revenue?
No, you publish your own ads from your customers and keep 100% of your revenue.
What if I need more channels? Can I integrate them into the same branded applications?
Absolutely. You can add as many channels as you want to your white-label applications. Every channel is an independent JanuxTV account, with its own EPG, VoDs, notifications, etc.
What if I need to reach more than 2.000 concurrent users?
In that case, we can set up a special platform for you, including CDN delivery to reach as many viewers as you want. Just contact sales to design your custom-tailored JanuxTV platform.
What kind of backup do you have?
JanuxTV does not backup or copy any customer data. You are in charge of backing up all your content and settings. However, if you need a failover architecture, you can set up another JanuxTV server to act as a live backup.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your JanuxTV subscription plan at any time. In this case, the cancellation will be effective at the end of the current billing cycle.
Can I upgrade or downgrade from my current plan?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan on JanuxTV. Contact sales and tell us what you want to do.
